Primary Teaching Assistant – Mainstream Primary School, Gosport (PO12)
Prospero Teaching is proud to be working with a welcoming and inclusive primary school based in Gosport (PO12), who are looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to join their team. This is a class-based role supporting pupils across Key Stages 1 and 2.
About the Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you’ll work closely with the class teacher to support pupils throughout the school day-helping them feel confident, safe, and ready to learn.
Daily Responsibilities
Provide one-to-one and small group support to help pupils with learning and social skills
Encourage positive behaviour and help children build friendships
Support emotional wellbeing and help remove barriers to learning
Work flexibly across different classes and follow a daily timetable
Use initiative to ensure all learners achieve the best outcomes
Who We’re Looking For
Patient, caring, and a strong team player
GCSEs or equivalent in English and Maths (grade C or level 4)
Experience is helpful but not essential-training and support will be provided
Calm and positive approach to supporting children with a range of needs
Empathetic understanding of behaviour and emotional development
Willingness to undergo training, including support for children with medical needs
Strong understanding of safeguarding and confidentiality
Key Details
Working Hours: 8:15 am to 3:00 pm, Monday to Friday
Term-Time Only: 39 weeks per year
Starting Pay: £ per hour
Location: Mainstream primary school in Gosport (PO12)
Contract Type: Ongoing position
