Prospero Teaching is looking for a passionate, proactive and enthusiastic Year 4 Class Teacher to support the learning of pupils in one of our inspirational Primary Schools in Newcastle on a full-time and long-term basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to build positive relationships with pupils and have a long-term, positive impact on their lives, progress and development.

About the Role:

  • The role will involve planning and teaching engaging and informative lessons that inspire pupils and allow all pupils to make progress regardless of their ability levels.
  • Stretching and challenging the learning and progress of all pupils.
  • Building positive relationships with pupils and Teaching Assistants to create excellent learning environments.
  • Managing challenging behaviour in a positive, proactive and consistent manner.
  • Differentiating lessons appropriately to suit the needs and learning styles of all pupils.
  • Using varied methods of assessment to assess pupil progress.
  • Displaying high levels of enthusiasm, energy and positivity when working with children.
  • Working effectively with Teaching Assistants to ensure children receive the best possible educational experience.

About the School:

The role is based in an inspirational Primary School in Newcastle. The School has an outstanding supportive culture and Leadership Team, where staff work as a Team within classrooms to provide high standards of support to pupils.

Pay, Hours and Contract:

  • Pay – Between £130-200 per day
  • Hours – Full-time until the end of the Academic Year in July 2026.
  • Contract – Temporary Contract.
  • Start Date – April 2026
  • Location – Newcastle

Experience/Qualifications and Requirements:

  • An Enhanced DBS (ideally on the Update Service but this is not essential as we can process a new one for you).
  • QTS and Primary School Teaching experience within the UK.
  • Previous experience of Teaching Year 4 Class (desirable).
  • Experience of short, medium and long-term planning.
  • Experience of utilising a range of methods to assess pupil progress.
  • Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with an ability to build rapport.
  • Experience of Teaching within the UK.
  • Strong organisation and communication skills.
