Prospero Teaching is delighted to be supporting a welcoming Primary School in Portsmouth who are seeking a passionate and qualified teacher to join their Special Educational Needs (SEN) provision from January 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in children's lives by supporting pupils with additional needs and helping them to thrive both academically and personally.
What you'll be doing:
- Delivering high‑quality teaching within the school's SEN provision
- Planning and delivering tailored interventions to meet individual learning needs
- Supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs, including social, emotional, and learning challenges
- Creating and adapting engaging resources to ensure accessibility for all learners
- Working closely with the SENCo, Headteacher, staff, parents, and external professionals to provide holistic support
- Promoting inclusion and helping pupils build confidence, resilience, and independence
What we're looking for:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Previous teaching experience in KS1 or KS2, ideally with SEN involvement
- A relevant degree (or higher)
- Strong understanding of SEN strategies and a commitment to inclusive practice
- Enthusiasm, creativity, and a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
