Prospero Teaching is delighted to be supporting a welcoming Primary School in Portsmouth who are seeking a passionate and qualified teacher to join their Special Educational Needs (SEN) provision from January 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in children's lives by supporting pupils with additional needs and helping them to thrive both academically and personally.

What you'll be doing:

  • Delivering high‑quality teaching within the school's SEN provision
  • Planning and delivering tailored interventions to meet individual learning needs
  • Supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs, including social, emotional, and learning challenges
  • Creating and adapting engaging resources to ensure accessibility for all learners
  • Working closely with the SENCo, Headteacher, staff, parents, and external professionals to provide holistic support
  • Promoting inclusion and helping pupils build confidence, resilience, and independence

What we're looking for:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Previous teaching experience in KS1 or KS2, ideally with SEN involvement
  • A relevant degree (or higher)
  • Strong understanding of SEN strategies and a commitment to inclusive practice
  • Enthusiasm, creativity, and a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs

  • Start date: January 2026
  • Duration: Long‑term, ongoing
  • Hours: Full‑time, Monday-Friday (8:00am-4:00pm)
