Prospero Teaching is delighted to be supporting a welcoming Primary School in Portsmouth who are looking for a passionate and qualified teacher to join their team as a Reading Intervention Teacher. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in children’s learning by helping them develop a lifelong love of reading.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Inspiring pupils to grow their confidence and skills in reading
  • Leading targeted reading interventions across KS1 and KS2
  • Planning and timetabling engaging sessions
  • Creating and sharing high‑quality learning resources
  • Teaching phonics and supporting literacy development
  • Working closely with the Headteacher, staff, parents, and pupils to ensure success

What we’re looking for:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Previous teaching experience in KS1 or KS2
  • A relevant degree (or higher)
  • Enthusiasm, creativity, and a genuine passion for helping children thrive

Role details:

  • Location: Portsmouth
  • Position: Reading Intervention Teacher
  • Start date: January 2026
  • Duration: Long‑term, ongoing
  • Hours: Full‑time, Monday-Friday (8:00am-4:00pm)
  • Pay: In line with Main Teacher Pay Scale
