Prospero Teaching is delighted to be supporting a welcoming Primary School in Portsmouth who are looking for a passionate and qualified teacher to join their team as a Reading Intervention Teacher. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in children’s learning by helping them develop a lifelong love of reading.
What you’ll be doing:
- Inspiring pupils to grow their confidence and skills in reading
- Leading targeted reading interventions across KS1 and KS2
- Planning and timetabling engaging sessions
- Creating and sharing high‑quality learning resources
- Teaching phonics and supporting literacy development
- Working closely with the Headteacher, staff, parents, and pupils to ensure success
What we’re looking for:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Previous teaching experience in KS1 or KS2
- A relevant degree (or higher)
- Enthusiasm, creativity, and a genuine passion for helping children thrive
Role details:
- Location: Portsmouth
- Position: Reading Intervention Teacher
- Start date: January 2026
- Duration: Long‑term, ongoing
- Hours: Full‑time, Monday-Friday (8:00am-4:00pm)
- Pay: In line with Main Teacher Pay Scale
