Prospero Teaching are seeking a passionate Part-Time Music Teacher to join a welcoming Secondary School in Portsmouth (PO12). This short-term placement is perfect for a creative educator who can deliver engaging lessons in keys and guitar, while fostering a positive and inspiring learning environment.

You will be joining an established and supportive team who value a culture where students are listened to, respected, and encouraged to express themselves through music.

The Role

As a Music Teacher, each day will bring variety and creativity. You will play a key role in delivering accessible and dynamic music lessons, adapting your approach to meet the needs of individual learners. You will also have the opportunity to support students in exploring musical skills and developing confidence in their performance abilities.

Contract Details

  • Location - Portsmouth, PO12
  • Position - Part-Time Music Teacher
  • Type of work - Music (Keyboard & Guitar Focus)
  • Working days - Mondays & Tuesdays
  • Start date - Immediate
  • End date - 8-week placement
  • Contract type - Temporary
  • Part-time - 2 days per week
  • Daily rate - GBP165 - GBP235 (depending on experience)
  • Hours - 8:30am - 4:00pm

Experience, Training and Qualifications

  • QTS preferred but not essential
  • Experience teaching music in a school setting (preferred)
  • Proficiency in keys and guitar
  • Up-to-date Safeguarding Training (issued within the last year)

Eligibility Requirements

  • Right to Work in the UK
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for a new one
  • Two professional, child-related references
