A secondary school in Portsmouth is looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join its supportive team. We welcome applications from experienced Teaching Assistants and those with a background in SEN, autism support, or secondary education.

The Role

Location: Portsmouth
Position: SEND Autism Spectrum Condition (ASc) Secondary TA
Start date: ASAP
Duration / Likely Duration: Ongoing
Contract type: Long term
Full time/part time: Full time
Minimum rate of pay: Β£140 per day
Hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm

Experience and Training

  • Teaching Assistant qualification (preferable but not essential)
  • Previous experience working in a UK School
  • Experience working with children in education or in a similar setting
  • Up-to-date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (desirable however not essential as training can be provided)

To Be Eligible, You Must

  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide two professional, child-related references
  • The successful candidate will be required to register and have passed all safeguarding/vetting checks with Prospero Teaching in order to fill this vacancy.

Any adult working with children and vulnerable young people are responsible for safeguarding and protecting the welfare of the children and young people.
