PEX Tutor – GBP25-GBP30 per hour

Prospero Teaching are working in partnership with Newcastle County Council to provide tuition to young people who have been permanently excluded from their education provision. These individuals are secondary aged, are often neurodiverse and struggling with their mental health. We operate across Newcastle and the ability to drive/travel within Newcastle would be beneficial! This is an excellent opportunity for a caring, empathetic tutor to utilise their skills & make a meaningful difference in the lives of a vulnerable individual.

Tuition is commissioned for 6 hours per week, usually split into three sessions of 2 hours. We can build up your timetable to accommodate either full or part time hours. Pay rate varies between GBP25 & GBP30 per hour depending on if you have Qualified Teacher Status.

As part of your role, you will be expected to:

· Build a rapport with the young person
· Complete Baseline Assessments
· Mark sessional attendance
· Complete weekly reports
· Complete an Individual Learning Plan

What we need from you:

· Hold the right to work in the UK
· Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to complete a new application
· Provide references to cover the last two years of employment
· The ability to commit to the young person and work for the duration of the placement
