Part-Time SEN Tutor (Greater Manchester Oldham, Rochdale, Bolton, Bury)

Prospero Teaching is recruiting experienced SEN Tutors to work with pupils across Greater Manchester (Oldham, Rochdale, Bolton, and Bury), delivering 1:1 tuition in both Maths and English from KS1 through to KS4.

Our tutors support vulnerable pupils who are currently out of school, many of whom have Special Educational Needs (SEN) or Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The role requires patience, flexibility, and a creative approach to re-engage students with learning.

Role Details:

  • Location: Oldham, Rochdale, Bolton, Bury (community settings or pupil homes, with safeguarding measures in place)
  • Hours: Approx. 10 – 20 per week (flexible between 9am – 4pm, term-time only)
  • Pay: £27 – £30 per hour, depending on experience
  • Contract: Ongoing, part-time, flexible
  • Subjects: Both Maths and English (tutors must be confident delivering both at an appropriate level)
  • Start date: ASAP

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years experience working with pupils with SEN/SEMH in the UK
  • Experience teaching/tutoring both Maths and English within the UK curriculum
  • QTS desirable, though strong SEN/tuition backgrounds will also be considered
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
  • Ability to travel locally across Oldham, Rochdale, Bolton, and Bury
  • A patient, empathetic, and adaptable teaching style
