About the Role
We are seeking committed and resilient One-to-One Support Workers to join a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Knowsley, Liverpool. This specialist provision supports pupils aged 5 to 16, offering both primary and secondary alternative education for those who have been permanently excluded or require a more supportive environment than mainstream school can offer. This is a highly rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people who need stability, structure, and positive role models to help them reach their potential.
Responsibilities
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support to pupils, as well as assistance in small group settings
- Support emotional regulation, engagement, and the use of positive behaviour strategies
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff to deliver tailored learning activities
- Build strong, consistent relationships with pupils to promote progress and well-being
Requirements
- Minimum of 6 months classroom experience in the UK
- Experience working with challenging behaviour, SEMH, or within an alternative provision is desirable
- Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and the ability to remain calm under pressure
- A positive, empathetic attitude and a commitment to pupil inclusion
- Eligibility Right to work in the UK
- Enhanced Child Barred List DBS (on the Update Service or willing to apply)
- Two professional references related to childcare or education
- Available to work full-time from September 1st
