Secondary Teaching Assistant - Rossendale
Area: Rossendale, Greater Manchester

Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: Competitive salary dependent on experience and responsibilities
Working Hours: Wednesday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm
We are partnering with a highly regarded specialist secondary school in Rossendale to recruit a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant. This outstanding school provides exceptional education and support for children with complex learning needs.
What you’ll do:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to secondary-age students
- Support access to GCSE and entry-level curriculum content alongside mainstream peers
- Help implement individual education plans (IEPs) and EHCP targets
- Support students’ social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs
- Work closely with teaching staff, families, and external agencies
What we’re looking for:
- SEND experience, ideally within a setting integrating students with mainstream peers
- Confidence supporting GCSE or entry-level curriculum deliveryA calm, empathetic, and proactive approach to SEMH needs
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- A relevant qualification in support, care, or education is desirable but not essential
To be eligible you must:
- Hold the Right to Work in the UK
- Have a full UK driving license and own vehicle
- Have an enhanced child barred list DBS on the update service (or be willing to apply)
- Provide two professional references (child-related preferred)
