We are recruiting on behalf of secondary schools across Middlesbrough seeking dedicated Teaching Assistants to support students in KS3, KS4 and KS5 settings. About the role: Supporting students aged 11-19 across all year groups, depending on your preference and experience. Assisting teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons. Providing tailored academic and pastoral support on a 1:1 basis. Supporting small groups of students, typically between 3-5 pupils. Helping to create a positive, inclusive and supportive learning environment. Monitoring student progress and providing feedback to teaching staff. Encouraging student engagement, confidence and independence in the classroom.Pay, Hours and Contract: Pay: £15 - £17 per hour Hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm, Monday to Friday Contract: Full-time, temporary position with the potential to become permanent Start Date: September 2026 Location: Middlesbrough Experience, Qualifications and Requirements: Previous experience working in a school, education, childcare, youth work or support-based setting is desirable. Teaching Assistant, Supporting Teaching & Learning, childcare or related qualification (preferred but not essential). Confident supporting students on a 1:1 basis and within small group settings. Strong communication and relationship-building skills. A patient, positive and proactive approach. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Right to work in the UK. Hold an enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service or be willing to process a new application.
