Job Description: Secondary Teacher – Food Technology, Design Technology & Art

Area: Northwich

Start Date: December 2025

Contract Type: Full-time, Temporary

Salary: £168 – £233 per day (MPS/UPS)

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am – 4pm

About the School: Are you a creative, passionate and dedicated Secondary Art Teacher with a love for practical and expressive subjects? We’re working with a fantastic secondary school that prides itself on offering broad, hands-on creative learning through Food Technology, Design Technology and Art. We are ideally looking for someone with experience in resistant materials. The school is well-resourced, forward-thinking, and committed to providing an engaging and inclusive environment where students are encouraged to think creatively, problem-solve, and take pride in their practical work.

As a Secondary Art Teacher you will:

  • Deliver high-quality teaching across Food Technology, Design Technology (including resistant materials) and Key Stage 3/4 art
  • Plan and deliver exciting practical lessons that inspire creativity and skill development
  • Maintain a safe, well-organised workshop/kitchen/studio environment
  • Assess progress effectively and provide constructive, developmental feedback
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across the Creative & Technology Faculty

What We’re Looking For:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Strong subject knowledge in Food Technology and/or Resistant Materials, with the ability to teach Art
  • Confident delivering practical lessons in workshop and food environments
  • A positive, creative, and resilient approach to teaching
  • A genuine passion for practical subjects and supporting students’ creative growth

To be eligible you must:

  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the update service OR be willing to apply for a new one
  • Provide two professional child-related references
