About the Role: The role involves planning and teaching engaging Maths lessons for pupils with a wide range of SEN in an SEND setting, enabling all pupils to make progress. Work with Primary and Secondary aged pupils within an SEND setting who have SEND such as ASD, ADHD, SEMH, SLD and PMLD.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Designing, planning and implementing a Maths curriculum.
  • Managing challenging behaviour in a positive, proactive and consistent manner.
  • Differentiating lessons to suit the needs and learning styles of all pupils.
  • Using varied assessment methods to monitor pupil progress.
  • Maintaining high levels of enthusiasm, energy and positivity when working with children.
  • Collaborating effectively with Teaching Assistants to ensure students receive a high-quality educational experience.

About the School: The role is based in an inspirational SEND setting in Morpeth. The school supports pupils across Primary and Secondary age ranges with a wide range of SEND.

Pay, Hours and Contract: Contract – Full-time until the end of the Academic Year in July 2027. Start Date – ASAP. Location – Morpeth.

Experience/Qualifications and Requirements:

  • An Enhanced DBS (ideally on the Update Service; we can process a new one if needed).
  • Maths teaching experience.
  • Experience using a range of methods to assess pupil progress.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to build rapport.
  • A positive and resilient attitude towards teaching and work.
  • A genuine passion for teaching and helping young people develop their skills.
  • Strong organisation and communication skills.
