Prospero Teaching is looking for a passionate, proactive and enthusiastic Class Teacher to support the learning of pupils in one of our inspirational PRU Settings in Blyth on a full-time and long-term basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to build positive relationships with pupils and have a long-term, positive impact on their lives, progress and development. All Subject specialisms will be considered.
About the Role:
- The role will involve planning and teaching engaging and informative lessons that inspire pupils with a wide range of SEN and allows all pupils to make progress.
- Working with Secondary aged pupils within a PRU setting who have a wide range of SEN and challenging behaviour.
- Building positive relationships with pupils and Teaching Assistants to create excellent learning environments.
- Managing challenging behaviour in a positive, proactive and consistent manner.
- Differentiating lessons appropriately to suit the needs and learning styles of all pupils.
- Using varied methods of assessment to assess pupil progress.
- Displaying high levels of enthusiasm, energy and positivity when working with children.
- Working effectively with Teaching Assistants to ensure children receive the best possible educational experience.
About the School:
The role is based in an inspirational PRU setting in Blyth. The School supports pupils across the Secondary School age range.
Pay, Hours and Contract:
- Pay – Between £130-200 per day.
- Hours – Full-time until the end of the Academic Year in July 2026.
- Contract – Temporary Contract.
- Start Date – ASAP.
- Location – Blyth.
Experience/Qualifications and Requirements:
- An Enhanced DBS (ideally on the Update Service but this is not essential as we can process a new one for you).
- QTS and Science Teaching experience in either SEND, Primary or Secondary School settings within the UK.
- Strong Behaviour Management skills.
- Experience of utilising a range of methods to assess pupil progress.
- Strong KS3-KS5 Science Subject Knowledge.
- Strong relationship-building skills with an ability to build rapport.
- A positive and resilient attitude towards Teaching and work.
- Experience of Science Teaching within the UK.
- A genuine passion for Teaching.
- Strong organisation and communication skills.
