Functional Skills Tutor – English & Maths
Gosforth, Newcastle
Part time / Full Time options available.
At Prospero Teaching, we work alongside Local Councils, schools, and SEND teams across the UK to help students who are not in full-time education due to exclusion or other barriers. We match students with tutors in 1:1 or small group settings, delivering personalised learning plans to help them reach their potential.
We’re looking for dedicated Functional Skills Tutors in Gosforth to support students in Maths and English. These learners need a patient, adaptable tutor who can help them overcome challenges and re-engage with education.
Position Details:
- Pay: Up to £30 per hour (depending on experience/qualifications)
- Hours: Up to 15 hours per week
- Start Date: ASAP
- Location: Gosforth, Tyne and Wear

Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver 1:1 tutoring in Functional Skills Maths and/or English
- Create personalised lesson plans to address learning gaps

Requirements:
- Previous experience in Functional Skills (Maths and English)
- Ability to travel to Gosforth regularly
- Right to work in the UK

- Two years of references (education or employment)
