Prospero Teaching is excited to announce an opportunity for a passionate and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to work in an excellent secondary school in the Sefton area starting in September 2026.

Learning Support Assistant

Location: Sefton, L37

Start Date: September 2026

Contract Type: Full-time

Working Hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm

Pay: Paid to scale

Responsibilities

Supporting Students: Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with additional needs, helping them engage and succeed in their studies.
Classroom Assistance: Assist the class teacher in managing the classroom, preparing materials, and implementing lesson plans.
Behavioural Support: Help manage and improve student behaviour, ensuring a positive and conducive learning environment.
Encouraging Inclusion: Ensuring students feel valued and supported in the classroom.
Monitoring Progress: Helping students achieve their learning goals. Requirements:

Previous experience working with children.
Experience supporting individuals with additional needs.
Up-to-date Safeguarding training (desirable, but not essential as training will be provided).
Right to Work in the UK.
Enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service, or willingness to apply for a new one.
Ability to provide a minimum of two professional references covering 24 months/to cover the last 2 yearsWhy Join Prospero Teaching?
