As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher and wider school staff to support a pupil's academic, social, and emotional development. You will provide tailored support to help the pupil engage with learning, develop independence, and feel supported throughout the school day.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one support to a pupil during lessons and activities.
- Support learning, communication, and emotional regulation.
- Adapt activities to meet the pupil's individual needs.
- Encourage positive behaviour, confidence, and independence.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff, and parents.
- Ensure safeguarding, inclusion, and well-being are prioritised at all times.
Requirements:
- Experience working with children in a school or educational setting.
- A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to follow support plans and work as part of a team.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply.
