Area: Leeds, West Yorkshire

Start Date: ASAP

Contract Type: Full-time, Long-term

Rate: 90 - 120 per day (dependent on experience and responsibilities)

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm

About the School

We are partnering with a fantastic specialist school in Leeds that supports students with a range of special educational needs (SEN), including autism, learning disabilities, and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. The school is dedicated to providing a nurturing, inclusive, and supportive environment where every student can thrive.

As a Special Needs Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with a range of SEN.
  • Assist in the delivery of tailored learning to meet EHCP goals and individual needs.
  • Support students with social and emotional development, as well as academic progress.
  • Work alongside the class teacher and SENCO to implement strategies and adaptations that support inclusive education.
  • Foster a positive and supportive learning environment to help students engage with their learning.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience working with students with SEN, ideally within a school setting.
  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to supporting children with additional needs.
  • A passion for inclusive education and a commitment to helping children make progress.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods and support strategies to suit individual students.
  • Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential).

To be eligible, you must:

  • Hold Right to Work in the UK.
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service OR be willing to process a new application.
  • Provide two professional child-related references.
