As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students to support their emotional well-being and academic progress. The school fosters a safe and positive environment, helping students develop resilience, social skills, and overcome learning barriers.
As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEMH needs.
- Assist in behaviour management strategies and social skills development.
- Help create and maintain a calm, structured learning environment.
- Support the teacher and SENCO in delivering tailored interventions and learning plans.
- Collaborate with other professionals to enhance students' emotional and academic growth.
What We're Looking For:
- Experience working with students with SEMH or related additional needs.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to manage challenging behaviours.
- A commitment to inclusive education and supporting student development.
- Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential).
- Calm, resilient approach and professionalism in challenging situations.
To be eligible, you must:
- Hold Right to Work in the UK.
- Possess an enhanced DBS certificate with the online update service or be willing to obtain one.
- Provide two professional references.
