Are you an inspirational and experienced Maths Teacher who is looking to have a positive impact on the lives of pupils who face barriers to learning? If so, we want to hear from you today! Prospero Teaching is looking for a passionate, proactive and enthusiastic Maths Teacher to support the learning of pupils in one of our inspirational PRU Settings in Newcastle on a Temporary to Permanent basis, to start ASAP or from September 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity to build positive relationships with pupils and have a long-term, positive impact on their lives, progress and development.

About the Role:

  • The role will involve planning and teaching engaging and informative Maths sessions that inspire pupils with a wide range of SEN and allows all pupils to make progress.
  • Working with Secondary aged pupils within a PRU setting who have SEMH of varying levels as well as challenging behaviour on a 1:1 basis and in small Intervention groups.
  • Building positive relationships with pupils and Teaching Assistants to create excellent learning environments.
  • Managing challenging behaviour in a positive, proactive and consistent manner.
  • Differentiating lessons appropriately to suit the needs and learning styles of all pupils.
  • Using varied methods of assessment to assess pupil progress.
  • Displaying high levels of enthusiasm, energy and positivity when working with children.
  • Working effectively with Teaching Assistants.
