ASC Teaching Assistant – Disley
Prospero Teaching is looking for an ASC Teaching Assistant to join one of our specialist settings in Disley.
You will be based on the on‑site Alternative Provision supporting young learners who are struggling with the demands of mainstream classes.
Overview
There is extensive training available for the successful candidate and the Senior Leadership Team runs regular CPD for all staff.
This full‑time role will run until July 2027 (starting immediately) and is ideal for someone who may be considering teacher training in September 2027.
Responsibilities
- Provide academic support to students aged 11‑16 across Maths, English and Science.
- Conduct one‑to‑one mentoring and crisis intervention sessions.
- Support small groups with pre‑planned activities.
- Work closely with teachers and support staff to maintain a calm, positive environment.

- Up‑to‑date Safeguarding training issued in the last year.

- Hold Right to Work in the UK.
- Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application.
- Provide two professional child‑related references.
