We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic full-time Teaching Assistant to support students in Key Stages 3 and 4 at a welcoming secondary school in the Bury area. This role is perfect for someone passionate about helping young people thrive – whether you already have experience working with ages 11-16 or you’re a recent graduate eager to gain valuable classroom experience.

- Contract Type: Full-time, temporary
- Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm

Teaching Assistant Role Overview
- Provide dedicated support to students across KS3 & KS4, helping them stay engaged and confident in their learning
- Assist with a variety of classroom activities and deliver small-group interventions to boost student progress
- Support students with additional learning, SEND, or emotional needs when required
- Help maintain a calm, positive, and consistent learning environment
- Work closely with teachers, pastoral teams, and parents to support student wellbeing
- Contribute to wider school activities, including exam support and general classroom duties
Experience, Training & Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a secondary school or supporting young people
- GCSE English & Maths (Grade C/4 or above)
- Up-to-date safeguarding training (can be provided)
- Prevent, behaviour management, and FGM training (can be provided)
Requirements
- Right to Work in the UK
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
- Two professional references covering the last two years
