About the Level 3 Teaching Assistant role:
- Provide daily support to pupils with social, emotional, and communication needs.
- Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and differentiated lessons.
- Lead small group and one-to-one intervention sessions to target key areas of learning and behaviour.
- Step in to lead the class when required, following plans and maintaining routines.
- Encourage positive relationships, emotional regulation, and resilience among pupils.
- Implement behaviour support strategies with empathy, patience, and professionalism.
- Collaborate closely with the class teacher and SENCO to track pupil progress and adapt support strategies.
The ideal Level 3 Teaching Assistant will have a strong understanding of the barriers faced by children with complex needs and will be committed to helping each child thrive through encouragement, consistency, and creativity.
Requirements for the Level 3 Teaching Assistant:
- Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (essential).
- Experience supporting pupils with complex needs, trauma, ASD, ADHD, or SEMH.
- Confident in leading small groups and stepping up to lead classes when required.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Positive attitude, resilience, and a passion for inclusive education.
- Team Teach or equivalent behaviour management training (advantageous).
