We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to work within Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) settings across schools in the Heywood area. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate education professional who enjoys supporting young children at the very start of their learning journey.
This role is ideal for Teaching Assistants who are confident working with nursery and reception-aged pupils and who understand the importance of early development, routine, and play-based learning. You will play a key role in supporting children’s learning, social development, and wellbeing in a nurturing classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the class teacher in delivering engaging EYFS lessons and activities
- Work with children on a one-to-one and small-group basis
- Assist with phonics, early literacy, numeracy, and play-based learning
- Help create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment
- Support children with personal care where required
- Encourage positive behaviour and support emotional development
- Follow school safeguarding and health & safety policies at all times
Essential Requirements:
- Previous experience working within EYFS (Nursery or Reception)
- A good understanding of the EYFS framework and child development
- Ability to support learning through play and structured activities
- A caring, patient, and enthusiastic approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
