A specialist secondary provision, delivered in partnership with a mainstream academy, is looking for a part-time Teaching Assistant to support students with SEND who are integrated alongside mainstream peers. The role focuses on supporting access to a formal curriculum, including GCSE and entry-level accreditation, within smaller, specialist-led classes.
What you’ll do:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to secondary-age students
- Support access to GCSE and entry-level curriculum content alongside mainstream peers
- Help implement individual education plans (IEPs) and EHCP targets
- Support students’ social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs
- Work closely with teaching staff, families, and external agencies
What we’re looking for:
- SEND experience, ideally within a setting integrating students with mainstream peers
- Confidence supporting GCSE or entry-level curriculum delivery
- A calm, empathetic, and proactive approach to SEMH needs
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- A relevant qualification in support, care, or education is desirable but not essential
To be eligible you must:
- Hold the Right to Work in the UK
- Have an enhanced child barred list DBS on the update service (or be willing to apply)
- Provide two professional references (child-related preferred)
