About the Role:

As a KS1 Teaching Assistant, you’ll work closely with the class teacher to support pupils’ learning in Years 1 and 2. You’ll help create a positive, engaging classroom environment where every child can reach their full potential. The role involves supporting individuals, small groups, and the whole class as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils across KS1.
  • Encourage positive behaviour, independence, and participation in learning.
  • Assist with classroom organisation, displays, and learning materials.
  • Contribute to pupil observations and progress discussions.
  • Follow safeguarding and school policies to ensure pupil well-being.

Requirements:

  • Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
  • Experience working in a KS1 or primary classroom.
  • A positive, caring, and patient attitude.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply.
