About the Role:
We are seeking a passionate and innovative General Class Teacher to join the team at a well-established Secondary Specialist School that we are working with, working with students aged 14-19 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. In this role, you will teach students with complex SEMH needs, supporting them to gain skills, knowledge, and qualifications necessary for life beyond education. You will work closely with other educators to create engaging lessons, providing tailored support to ensure students develop both academically and personally.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience: Previous experience planning and developing courses for reluctant learners.
- SEMH Knowledge: Experience working with young people with complex SEMH needs, ideally within an educational setting.
- Behaviour Management: A nurturing and empathetic approach to behaviour management.
- Resilience: The physical and emotional resilience to support students with complex needs.
To be eligible you must:
- Hold a recognised teaching qualification (QTS, PGCE, BEd)
- Be eligible to work in the UK
- Be willing to undergo an enhanced DBS check (if not already registered with the online update service)
- Provide two professional or academic references
