Position: SEMH Teacher

Location: Manchester

Pay: £900-£1250 per week, depending on experience

Start date: 07/09/2026

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am-3:45pm

As part of their team, you'll work with enthusiastic learners who benefit from creative, flexible and relationship-focused teaching. Your role will be to help them access the curriculum, develop key skills, and celebrate progress at every step of their learning journey.

We are looking for a SEMH teacher who:

  • Delivers engaging lessons tailored to meet individual learning needs and SEMH priorities.
  • Teaches across a range of subjects - particularly maths, English, science and life-skills - whilst adapting delivery to suit learners' needs and abilities.
  • Delivers engaging, well-structured lessons that meet SEMH needs.
  • Works effectively without constant direction and uses initiative.
  • Builds strong, trusting relationships with students.
  • Understands behaviour as communication and responds with consistency and empathy.

What We're Looking For:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience teaching SEMH or in specialist settings.
  • Strong understanding of SEMH, SEND, and positive behaviour strategies.
  • Ability to build strong, positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families.
  • Highly organised, adaptable, and proactive approach to teaching and pastoral care.
  • Passion for helping pupils overcome barriers and achieve their full potential.

To Be Eligible You Must:

  • Hold the Right to Work in the UK.
  • Have an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service (or be willing to apply).
  • Be able to provide two professional child-related references.
