We are seeking an experienced and dedicated QTS Tutor to work with secondary school students in Trafford who have severe Special Educational Needs (SEN). The successful candidate will provide one-to-one tuition in Maths, English, or other core subjects, ensuring that students receive the support they need to thrive academically and emotionally. This role requires a qualified teacher with proven experience in supporting students with severe SEN needs, and a commitment to creating an inclusive, supportive, and engaging learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored tuition in Maths, English, and/or other subjects to secondary school students with severe SEN needs.
- Design and deliver individualised lesson plans that cater to the specific learning and emotional needs of each student.
- Build strong, trusting relationships with students to ensure a safe and positive learning environment.
- Monitor student progress closely, adapting teaching methods to best suit individual needs.
- Provide feedback to parents, carers, and relevant professionals on students' progress and development.
- Work closely with the school's SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to ensure that the individual needs of each student are met.
Essential Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) as a minimum qualification.
- Proven experience working with secondary school students with severe SEN needs, including Autism, ADHD, or other complex learning needs.
- Ability to develop and implement tailored lesson plans for students with a wide range of needs.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with students, parents, and school staff.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one).
Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience with a wide variety of SEN needs, including those requiring complex support.
- Knowledge of additional SEN strategies and interventions.
- Experience working in a secondary school setting with students who require individualised learning approaches.
