The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers, SEND staff, and other support colleagues to provide tailored assistance that promotes pupil engagement, progress, and well-being.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide targeted one-to-one or small-group support for pupils with additional needs, including SEND and/or EAL.
- Assist the classroom teacher in delivering engaging lessons and supporting behaviour management.
- Help create a positive, safe, and inclusive learning atmosphere for all pupils.
- Support with classroom organisation, preparation of resources, and visual displays.
- Encourage pupil confidence, independence, and emotional well-being.
- Contribute to observations, assessments, and feedback where appropriate.
Requirements
- Experience supporting children with additional needs, ideally in a primary school setting.
- A passion for helping pupils achieve their full potential.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
- Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning (desirable but not essential).
