About the Role:
As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you’ll work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to provide tailored support to a pupil’s individual learning and emotional needs. You’ll help the pupil engage in class activities, develop confidence, and progress both academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one support for a pupil with additional needs.
- Assist with delivering targeted interventions and differentiated activities.
- Encourage engagement, independence, and positive behaviour.
- Support social and emotional development throughout the school day.
- Collaborate with teachers, SEN staff, and parents to ensure consistent support.
- Uphold safeguarding and inclusion policies at all times.
Requirements:
- Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
- Experience supporting children with additional or special educational needs.
- A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply.
