Position: SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Stockport (SK8)

Pay: £99-£110 per day, depending on experience

Start Date: 01/06/2026

Hours: 8:30am-3:30pm

Are you a kind and compassionate SEN teaching assistant seeking a new role? Prospero Teaching are working with a large SEN provision in Stockport to recruit experienced SEN teaching assistants to join their team. The school supports pupils aged between 4-19, with complex needs.

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis, providing emotional and academic support
  • Maintain regular communication with SLT and third-party agencies to monitor progress and development
  • Support the class teacher, creating engaging learning resources

What we require:

  • Previous experience supporting complex needs, in a school or residential setting is essential for this position
  • A genuine passion for supporting complex needs
  • Team Teach training is highly desired
  • Up to date Safeguarding in the last year (desired but training can be provided)

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide two professional child related references that cover the last two years
