Prospero Teaching is proud to be working with a supportive and specialist SEMH school in the New Forest, seeking a committed and enthusiastic English Teacher to join their team on a full-time, ongoing basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate educator to make a genuine difference in the lives of young people with social, emotional and mental health needs. The Role
- Deliver engaging and inclusive English lessons up to GCSE level
- Adapt teaching approaches to meet a variety of SEMH and additional learning needs
- Foster a safe, structured, and positive learning environment
- Use effective behaviour management strategies and relationship-based practice
- Support students in developing resilience, emotional regulation, and self-confidence
- Work collaboratively with pastoral teams, support staff, and senior leadership
- Contribute to a positive school culture focused on wellbeing and student success
About You
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification
- Experience teaching English up to GCSE level
- Previous SEMH or SEN experience (desirable but not essential)
- Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students
- A patient, calm, and empathetic approach
- Excellent resilience, flexibility, and a genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners
