The Opportunity
Prospero Teaching are partnered with Local Councils and SEND teams throughout the UK. We provide educational support to individuals who are currently out of mainstream education, those seeking additional support, and individuals with SEND.
We are currently looking for an experienced 1:1 SEN Tutor to support students with complex needs, who are currently out of school and not receiving education. Tuition is needed to support students with the core subjects of Maths and English, although some of the students that require tuition have never received any formal education due to their complex needs, therefore, are working at the lowest level possible.
Due to the nature of the students we provide support to, applicants must have a background and strong understanding of SEN.
Position Details:
- Location: Barking and Dagenham
- Position: 1:1 SEN Tutor
- Hours: 10 hours per week
- Timetable: 5 days per week, 2 hours per day
- Start date: ASAP
- Duration: ongoing
Experience, Training and Qualifications:
- QTS or equivalent
- Experience working with students with complex needs
- Have experience working with SEND or disengaged pupils
- UK classroom teaching experience
- Be creative, patient and willing to think outside of the box
To be eligible for this role, the potential 1:1 SEN Tutor must:
- Hold the right to work in the UK
- Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
- Provide two professional child-related references.
