Learning Support Assistant (BSL Qualified) - Hearing Impairment Provision 📍 East London 🕒 Full-Time | Term Time Only Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs? Do you have Level 2 or Level 3 British Sign Language (BSL) and experience working within SEN settings? We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist Hearing Impairment Provision within a welcoming East London school. The Role You will be supporting pupils with hearing impairments both in the classroom and on a 1:1 basis, helping them access learning, develop communication skills, and reach their full potential. Requirements ✅ Level 2 or Level 3 British Sign Language (BSL) qualification (essential) ✅ Previous SEN experience within a school, college, or specialist setting ✅ Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to obtain one) ✅ Strong communication and interpersonal skills ✅ Patient, nurturing, and adaptable approach ✅ Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team Responsibilities Supporting students with hearing impairments in lessons and around the school Using BSL to facilitate communication and engagement Assisting with learning activities and educational targets Promoting independence, confidence, and social development Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, speech and language therapists, and other professionals Ensuring students receive the highest level of support and care Apply Today If you hold a Level 2 or 3 BSL qualification, have an Enhanced DBS, and possess SEN experience, we would love to hear from you.
