About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and inspirational Deputy Headteacher to support the Headteacher in leading our SEND school.

The successful candidate will play a key role in driving high-quality teaching, improving outcomes for pupils with SEND, and supporting the strategic development of the school.

Essential Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Significant experience working within a
  • SEND school or specialist provision
  • Proven leadership experience at senior or middle leadership level.
  • Strong understanding of SEND legislation, EHCPs, and inclusive practices.
  • Experience of improving teaching, learning, and pupil outcomes.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and develop staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Headteacher in the strategic leadership of the school.
  • Lead on teaching, learning, and curriculum development.
  • Monitor and improve pupil progress and achievement.
  • Support safeguarding, behaviour, attendance, and wellbeing.
  • Line manage staff and lead professional development.
  • Build effective partnerships with parents, carers, and external agencies.
  • Deputise for the Headteacher when required.
