Prospero Teaching is currently recruiting for tutors in Selby! The ideal candidate should be hardworking, dedicated, and eager to aid students in their learning journey. Candidates should have experience working with children, whether that be tuition, teaching and classroom roles, or pastoral and care employment.
Additional details below:
- Position: 1:1 Tutor
- Location: YO8, within the students home.
- Start Date: ASAP, if you're cleared for work, or November 2025.
- End Date: Ongoing
- Hours: 10 hours per week (over 3/5 days), taking place in school hours 9am - 4pm Mon - Fri.
- Pay: GBP20 - GBP30 per hour.
The Role: Core literacy/numeracy; education through play tuition for a Year 1 student working below ARE. Experience with SEN is desired.
Experience, Training and Qualifications:
- QTS (desired but not required), or previous experience of working with students on 1:1 basis.
- Proven track record of improving students' performances.
- Team Teach Qualification would be highly desirable, but not required.
- Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (desirable however not essential as Safeguarding training is provided).
- DBS on update service.
To be eligible for this role through Prospero Teaching, you must:
- Hold Right to Work in the UK.
- Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application.
- Provide two professional references from your previous two years of employment.
