Prospero Teaching is looking for a Level 6 Qualified Teaching Assistant for a welcoming two form-entry primary school in Richmond Upon Thames, South West London. This diverse primary school is committed to supporting pupils with mixed abilities. The successful Level 6 Teaching Assistant will support teaching and learning across the classroom, delivering targeted interventions, providing 1:1 and small-group support, and helping pupils make progress academically and emotionally.

The position is only open to experienced Level 6 Teaching Assistants and Learning Support Assistants who hold a recognised Level 6 qualification.

CONTRACT/POSITION DETAILS

  • Location: Richmond Upon Thames, South West London
  • Position: Level 6 SEN Teaching Assistant
  • Type of Work: Supporting pupils with SEND through 1:1 interventions, small-group work, behaviour support, and classroom-based learning activities
  • Start Date: September 2026
  • Contract Type: Full Time
  • Rate of Pay: GBP115 - GBP145 per day (depending on experience and qualifications)
  • Hours: 8:15am - 3:45pm, Monday to Friday (term time only)

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Hold a recognised Level 6 Teaching Assistant Qualification (or equivalent relevant childcare/education qualification)
  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, SEN Teaching Assistant, or Learning Support Assistant within a primary school setting
  • Experience supporting children with SEND, including ASD, ADHD, Speech and Language Needs, Social & SEMH
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
  • Up-to-date Safeguarding Training is desirable
  • GCSE English and Mathematics at Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent)
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and behaviour management skills

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide two professional child-related references covering at least the last two years
  • Must have a Level 6 Teaching Assistant Qualification (or equivalent relevant childcare/education qualification)
