Prospero Teaching is looking for an Early Years Phase Leader for an Ofsted Outstanding Primary school in Tooting, Wandsworth. This school is an inclusive mainstream two-form entry school which has a supportive senior leadership team, is committed to continuous improvement and professional development for all staff. The school is dedicated to providing an engaging and nurturing environment for both children and staff.

This role is ideal for a qualified and experienced teacher with a passion for early childhood education, leadership, creating and maintaining high standards across the Early Years phase. The school is looking for a leader who can inspire and support the Early Years team, ensuring that all children receive the best start in their educational journey. The position is temporary, with the potential for a permanent appointment depending on performance.

CONTRACT/POSITION DETAILS

  • Location – Tooting, Wandsworth
  • Position – Early Years Phase Leader
  • Type of work – Leadership role overseeing the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum, including planning, assessment and staff management.
  • Contract or position start date – 5th January 2026
  • Contract or position end date – July 2026 with a view to extend
  • Contract type (temp/perm/temp to perm) – Temporary
  • Full time/part time – Full time
  • Salary – UPS/SPL (dependent on experience)
  • Hours – 8:00am – 16:00pm : Mon – Fri (term time only)

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • QTS or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Early Years or Primary teaching in the UK, with prior leadership experience or potential to step into a leadership role
  • Proven experience in managing behaviour and fostering a nurturing, positive learning environment
  • Strong knowledge of the EYFS curriculum and best practices in Early Years education
  • Experience working with children with SEN and EAL
  • Up to date safeguarding training

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide two professional child related references that cover at least the last two years
