A well-regarded and supportive secondary school in Romford is seeking a Design & Technology Technician to join its successful DT department from September. This is an excellent opportunity for an organised, practical and enthusiastic individual to play a key role in a busy and creative department. The school has excellent facilities, a strong leadership team and a positive, welcoming atmosphere.
The Role:
- Preparing materials, tools and equipment for DT lessons
- Maintaining machinery, tools and workshop areas
- Supporting staff and students across practical lessons
- Monitoring stock and ordering materials when required
- Ensuring health and safety procedures are followed at all times
- Supporting across areas such as resistant materials, product design and CAD/CAM where needed
Requirements:
- Experience working as a technician, workshop assistant or within a practical environment
- Good understanding of workshop tools, equipment and health & safety
- Organised, reliable and able to manage their own workload
- Previous school experience is desirable but not essential
- A friendly and proactive approach, with the ability to work well as part of a team
A permanent, full-time role from September with a supportive and experienced DT department, excellent facilities and resources, strong leadership and a welcoming staff team. Opportunities for training and development are available.
