A well-regarded and supportive secondary school in Romford is seeking a Design & Technology Technician to join its successful DT department from September. This is an excellent opportunity for an organised, practical and enthusiastic individual to play a key role in a busy and creative department. The Role:

  • Preparing materials, tools and equipment for DT lessons
  • Maintaining machinery, tools and workshop areas
  • Supporting staff and students across practical lessons
  • Monitoring stock and ordering materials when required
  • Ensuring health and safety procedures are followed at all times
  • Supporting across areas such as resistant materials, product design and CAD/CAM where needed

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience working as a technician, workshop assistant or within a practical environment
  • Good understanding of workshop tools, equipment and health & safety
  • Organised, reliable and able to manage their own workload
  • Previous school experience is desirable but not essential
  • A friendly and proactive approach, with the ability to work well as part of a team
