Prospero Teaching are looking for experienced Behaviour Mentors to support children and young people in the St Helens area. We are seeking role models who can inspire students, help them get back on track, and provide the encouragement they need to thrive. Strong communication skills, the ability to build rapport, and a genuine passion for working with vulnerable students are essential.

This is a part-time role (up to 20 hours per week), paid at up to GBP30 per hour. Sessions take place during school hours, between 9am and 3pm, giving you flexibility while still fitting around the school day.

This is more than just a mentoring role; it's about building trust, meeting students where they are, and helping them with their learning and personal goals. You'll play a vital role in supporting their development and acting as a consistent, positive influence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build strong, empathetic connections with students to encourage trust and openness.
  • Deliver one to one mentoring sessions to help students regulate their emotions and develop resilience.
  • Provide guidance on managing behaviour, avoiding negative influences, and building positive coping strategies.
  • Work collaboratively with parents, carers, teachers, and other professionals to create tailored support plans.
  • Foster a safe and calm environment where students feel valued and heard.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 1 years experience working one to one with children or young people facing behavioural or mental health challenges.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Must have, or be willing to undertake, an Enhanced DBS check.

The successful candidate will be required to register and complete all safeguarding and vetting checks with Prospero Teaching before starting. Any adult working with children and vulnerable young people is responsible for safeguarding and protecting their welfare.
