Prospero Teaching are excited to offer two part-time Learning Mentor roles (10 hours per week each) in Horsham, supporting young people to re-engage with mainstream education and build confidence, self-esteem, and positive adult relationships.

Role details:

  • Hours: 10 hours per week per role (apply for one or both!)
  • Schedule: Flexible timings, Monday to Friday within school hours.
  • Location: Horsham

About you:

  • Education professionals with experience working with learners with SEN and SEMH needs.
  • Ability to adapt tasks, activities, and learning to meet individual needs.
  • Passion for helping secondary-aged students with EHCPs achieve their potential.

As a Learning Mentor, you will:

  • Support young people in re-engaging with mainstream education and developing essential life skills.
  • Help learners build confidence, self-esteem, and positive relationships with adults.
  • Adapt tasks, activities, and learning approaches to meet individual needs, ensuring inclusivity and progress.
  • Work closely with students who have EHCPs and SEN/SEMH needs, providing tailored support.
  • Foster a safe, encouraging environment that promotes personal growth and academic success.

Essential & Desirable Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working with young people.
  • Experience of working with learners with SEN.

To be eligible for this role through Prospero teaching, you must:

  • Hold right to work in the UK.
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application.
  • Provide references upon request.
  • Possess up to date Safeguarding Training (or a willingness to undertake this).
