The school has two sites based in Withington and Longsight where you will be required to travel to either school at any time. This is a rewarding but demanding role within a specialist setting. The successful candidate will work closely with students who have complex special educational needs, requiring patience, flexibility, and strong behaviour-management skills.
About the Role:
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with Special Educational Needs.
- Assist pupils in accessing the curriculum and achieving their individual learning targets.
- Support the social, emotional, and behavioural development of children, promoting confidence and independence.
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement personalised learning and support plans.
Experience/Qualifications and Requirements:
- Experience working in primary school.
- All candidates must be Level 2 Team Teach trained or willing to complete the training.
- Previous experience supporting children with SEN.
- A nurturing, patient and proactive approach.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- An enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for one.
- References covering the last 24 months.
