Prospero Teaching is looking for a History teacher for an Ofsted Good Secondary school in Bolton. You will be responsible for teaching History to KS4 groups (including Year 11) and lower school general Humanities. This timetable would be suitable for an ECT looking for support with their Induction terms, or a more experienced colleague looking for a long-term supply booking.

Our school is easily accessible by road (M60, M61, A666), making this position ideal for colleagues based in Greater Manchester, Lancashire, or even Merseyside. There are strong public transport links via local train and bus services.

We have several long-term colleagues in the school who feel supported and welcomed. There is a dedicated pastoral support system in place including on-call support, an internal inclusion/reflections room, and a Deputy Headteacher whose sole focus is dealing with behavioural issues swiftly and fairly.

The position is open to NQT's/ECT's and more experienced colleagues. You will be paid to scale from day one of this assignment, and we are available to discuss this role with teaching professionals as soon as possible.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • History or similar Graduate, with a 2:2 or higher
  • UK Qualified Teacher Status is essential for this role
  • Previous experience working in a UK school
  • Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide two professional child-related references
