KS2 Teacher - Inclusion & SEN Department - Southampton Prospero Teaching is working with a mainstream secondary school in the Southampton area to recruit a dedicated and adaptable KS2 Teacher (QTS) to join its Inclusion and SEN team. This is a unique and rewarding opportunity to work with a small group of students who, despite being secondary-aged, are accessing a KS2 curriculum and benefit from a more personalised approach to learning. The successful candidate will deliver core curriculum subjects alongside PSHE, supporting pupils academically while helping them develop confidence, resilience, and positive attitudes towards education. The school is looking for a teacher who can build strong relationships, deliver engaging lessons, and support students who may require additional guidance to reach their full potential. The Role: Deliver the KS2 curriculum to secondary-aged pupils Plan and teach engaging lessons across a range of subjects Deliver PSHE lessons to support personal development and wellbeing Adapt learning to meet individual pupil needs Support students who may require additional academic or emotional support Monitor progress and provide regular feedback Create a positive, structured, and nurturing learning environment Work closely with inclusion staff, teaching assistants, and wider support teams Follow safeguarding and school policies consistentlyIdeal Candidate: Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) Experience teaching within KS2 Confident delivering PSHE and supporting personal development Strong classroom and behaviour management skills Able to build positive relationships and engage reluctant learners Flexible and creative approach to teaching Passionate about supporting pupils with additional learning needs Experience within SEN or inclusion settings beneficial but not essentialContract Details: Position: KS2 Teacher - Inclusion & SEN Department Location: Southampton Start Date: ASAP / September Working Pattern: Full‑time Pay Rate: £34,069 - £52,835 per annum (M1-U3) Curriculum: KS2 Setting: Mainstream Secondary SchoolExperience, Training & Safeguarding: QTS required KS2 teaching experience essential Experience supporting pupils with additional needs beneficial Safeguarding training can be providedWhat Prospero Teaching Offers: Free accredited CPD, including safeguarding & behaviour management Ongoing support from a dedicated consultant Guidance throughout the recruitment process Opportunities for continued and permanent roles A rewarding position within a supportive inclusion teamIf you're a KS2 Teacher looking for a rewarding role within an inclusion department in Southampton, we'd love to hear from you.
