About the School
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced SEND Teacher to lead a well-established mixed KS1-KS2 class where all pupils are working below the national curriculum. The class supports learners with a range of complex needs, including severe learning difficulties, autism, and social, emotional and mental health needs. Some pupils also have visual impairments, although these are not their primary area of need. Many learners are at an early stage of communication development and use a variety of approaches, including Signalong, PODD, PECS, and other alternative and augmentative communication methods.
About the Role
- Deliver high-quality, personalised teaching for pupils across KS2, with a focus on complex needs
- Plan, adapt, and differentiate engaging lessons to meet EHCP outcomes, developmental milestones, and sensory requirements
- Support pupils' holistic development β academic, social, emotional, and communication skills
- Collaborate closely with the SENCO, learning support staff, therapists, and families to provide a consistent and effective approach
- Monitor pupil progress, contribute to reports, and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings
What We're Looking For
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Experience teaching in an SEN setting (or strong SEN knowledge within a mainstream environment)
- A calm, empathetic, and resilient approach to classroom management
- Passion for inclusive education and a commitment to nurturing every child's progress
To be Eligible You Must
- Hold Right to Work in the UK
- Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service OR be willing to process a new application
- Provide two professional child related references
