Prospero Teaching is recruiting on behalf of a Primary School in Dudley, which is seeking a British Sign Language trained TA to support hearing impaired children 5 days a week. The placement is full-time from 8.30 to 15.30, starting on October 12th, 2026.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Level 3 TA
- BSL trained
- Makaton trained
- Paediatric First Aid (willing to train)
- Mental Health First Aid trained (willing to train)
- Experience with SALT intervention in deaf and hearing impaired children
- Available full-time (term time only)
- SEN inclusion awareness and driven
Key Responsibilities:
- Teaching and training basic Makaton/ BSL
- SEN awareness as they are an inclusion focused learning provider
- Support children with hearing, visual impairments and ASD
- Create a warm, inclusive, positive and nurturing atmosphere for children, parents and colleagues
- Ensure all staff are compliant with training, CPD and interventions
Provided:
- BEAM training to support inclusion
- SALT training and CPD to support speech and language
- Lego Therapy training to promote learning through play and sensory development
- Refreshers on First Aid
