SEN Teacher
Location: Huddersfield, West Yorkshire
Contract: Full-time / Part-time (flexible)
Salary: MPS/UPS + SEN Allowance (dependent on experience)
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate SEN Teacher to join a supportive school community in Huddersfield. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference by supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and complex learning needs. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching tailored to individual needs, creating an inclusive and nurturing learning environment, and working closely with support staff, families, and external professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons to meet individual pupil needs
- Support pupils' academic progress, emotional wellbeing, and social development
- Work collaboratively with SEN support staff, HLTAs, and therapists
- Contribute to EHCP reviews, assessments, and target setting
- Create a safe, structured, and positive learning environment
- Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and professionals
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience teaching pupils with SEN (school or specialist setting)
- Strong knowledge of inclusive teaching strategies and behaviour support
- A patient, resilient, and nurturing approach
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
