HLTA - SEN experience Prospero Teaching are partnered with Local Councils, SEND teams and Schools throughout the UK. We have a high demand for one-to-one or small group Higher Level Teaching Assistants who have experience supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in the Middlesbrough area. The Opportunity As a HLTA, you must be able to create, plan and deliver 1:1 lessons that are tailored to each individual student. You may have experience of working with children in a therapeutic way. One of your aims will be to support the pupil in their learning, offer structure back into their daily routine and continue their educational development until a suitable placement is found. The tuition is replacing school for these young people and each individual is commissioned for a certain amount of hours, taking place during school hours, five days a week. Prospero will work with you closely to monitor the progression with each pupil by asking you to submit weekly reports. We can accommodate both part time and full time hours. Contract/Position Details: · Location - Various locations across Middlesbrough · Position - HLTA · Type of work - Contract · Start date - ASAP · Setting - either within the students home or in the community (learning hub/library) · Duration - Until the pupil is able to find a suitable school placement · Contract type - Temporary · Full-time/part-time availability, ranging from 6-15hours p/w per student · Rate of pay - up to GBP30 per hour (negotiable) Your role with us: · Deliver one-to-one or small group tuition supporting students with SEND, focusing on building confidence, teaching life skills, how to safely access the community, simple cooking and fostering independence · Develop and implement personalised lesson plans that address individual learning gaps. · Monitor student progress and provide regular, constructive feedback to students and their families. · Create a supportive and motivating learning environment to help students re-build their confidence in learning. · Complete daily attendance and weekly reports.
